Spring rec. Season 

Our spring recreational season is our primary season beginning in February and ending in May. The spring season is inter-league based. We recommend those interested in beginning their softball career start here! Enrollment in the Spring season guarantees placement on a team. Please see FAQs below for additional information.

Does my player need experience to play?

No. Experience is not required to participate in our Spring Season.

Do I need to live in Elk Grove to register?

What are the division age requirements?

A player's age as of August 31 determines their Softball division. Check our age chart here

What equipment do I need to purchase?

Players & Families are responsible for their own softball pants, a glove, helmet with a face guard, non-metal cleats (Majors division excluded) and an USA softball approved bat. 

What does the Registration Fee cover?

Registration fees assist with uniform costs, registration with USA Softball, Umpire fees, CSD field-use fees, insurance, special league events, field equipment and more.

Can I opt-out of Volunteer hours?

Parents/Guardians may pay a fee to opt out of the required volunteer hours. Please email us for more details.

When & where is practice?

Practices for Spring may begin March 1. Most teams practice 2 days/week until Games start then drop to 1 practice/week + 1 game day.

The head coach determines practice schedules. Check our locations for potential game/practice fields.

How can I request a refund?

Submit your refund request form here. 

When is the deadline for refunds?

Refund amounts vary by period of submission.

Prior to uniform order → Full Refund

Mid-late February → Partial Refund

March or after → No Refund

Can I request a "buddy"?

A special request for a "buddy" may be submitted by using the button above.

How are teams formed?

Other than our 6U division and protected players, spring players are assessed then drafted by the coaches of their division.

Note: If a player does not show up to assessments, they will be randomly placed on a team.

When do I find out what team my player is on?

Teams are usually formed mid-February whereas your head coach will contact you (via registration contact information) shortly after.  

Note: If you do not hear from a coach by the end of February, please notify the League.
