Winter Ball

NorCal Winter Ball involves inter-league play with other leagues affiliated with NorCal Girls Softball. The teams within NorCal are from Placerville to Dixon, Woodland to Elk Grove and most cities in between. It is open to all girls between the ages of 7-16 who participated in the EGGSL spring season.

The Winter Ball season begins Labor Day weekend with a seeding Lolapalooza Tournament and runs through early November with an end of season, Down and Dirty Tournament.

The divisions will be divided into five age groups: 8U (ages 7-8), 10U (ages 9-10), 12U (ages 11-12), 14U (ages 13-14) and 16U (ages 15-16).

Placement within age brackets will be based upon the player’s age as of January 1st of the current spring season. The 14U and 16U divisions will play regular season double headers on Saturdays, while the 8U, 10U, and 12U divisions will play regular season double headers on Sundays, normally at 1:00pm and 3:00pm.

Unlike the EGGSL spring season, placement on a team isn’t guaranteed. Also, unlike the spring season, the competition level of NorCal is higher, similar to a “lighter version” of travel ball. Coaches are able to select/protect girls from any spring team with the family’s approval. All other players will be placed on a waiting list and may be placed on a team as roster spots become available. Rosters vary between 12 and 15 players per team.

In addition to players, we are always looking for coaches and assistant coaches. If you are interested in coaching, please register as a volunteer.
